Second opinion

If another doctor has suggested surgery, radiation, ablation or surveillance, you are welcome to ask Dr Kooner's rooms to review your imaging and letters. A formal referral from a GP or specialist is usually required for a new Medicare-supported consultation.

What to send before the appointment

  • Referral letter addressed to Dr Kooner.
  • CD, electronic link or report numbers for MRI, CT or ultrasound.
  • Pathology reports if a biopsy has been performed.
  • Short summary of treatments already completed.

Contact the rooms

Phone 02 8382 6980 during business hours, or email Raji.Kooner@svha.org.au with the subject line "Second opinion request".

Email is not for emergencies. If you have chest pain, sudden neurological symptoms, fever with obstructed urination or other emergency signs, call 000 or attend an emergency department.

Considering focal therapy or IRE?

You can ask for a second opinion on imaging, diagnosis and treatment options before you decide.
